Children First, Inc. was organized as Family Outreach in 1977, a volunteer organization that performed case management for the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. As Family Outreach, we received our 501(c)(3) in 1978. By 1985, our mission evolved from volunteer-based case management to professional counseling and therapy services for victims of abuse. Therefore, we separated from the state and incorporated under the new name of Children First, in order to better represent our new focus and services. Today, our mission to end the cycle of child abuse and family violence is carried out through counseling and education by a staff of skilled, compassionate, licensed therapists. Our staff of diverse counselors is equipped to assist children, adolescents, and adults. We are also available to serve clients seeking support for an array of issues including (but not limited to): grief, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, couples & family conflict, or general stress.
We are able to begin the healing process for children as young as age 3, through our play therapy services.
Mission Children First provides HOPE and HEALING through counseling and education for all ages, emphasizing the prevention of and recovery from physical and emotional abuse.
Vision Impacting generations with hope and healing for all.
